Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.
Lebensbeschreibung des k k Kapellmeisters Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart German Edition Niemetschek Franz Xaver 9781318969272 Books
This book was published in 1808, 17 years after Mozart's death. It gives an in-depth view into the artist's life. Mozart was a child prodigy... a boy genius who was adept at writing (and playing) music far beyond the capabilities of famous and accomplished people. Unfortunately, the prodigy image wore off as he got older, even though his music grew in depth and breadth and dimension.Niemetschek goes into depth about Mozart's friendships, his family relationships and pure joy of life.
The language is dated... really dated, but gives a sort-of golden glow to the narrative. Many stories are backed up by impressing the reader with the believability of sources. That kind of logic sounds quaint to those accustomed to being able to check volumes of sources on the Internet. :)
Especially touching was a story of Mozart's time in Italy when he was a teenager. He became best-friends with a young budding musician from England. He absolutely wowed the Italian public with feats of music and memory. The scene where he parts from his friend is a bit of a tear-jerker. One knows they will never see each other again. Times were different before the advent of the locomotive.
Also... it was very interesting to find out how the people of Prague idolized Mozart in his later (albeit still young) years.
The book requires an open mind for language. German spelling has changed a lot... along with manners of speech.
